The final week of the year is always exciting—it represents the passage of time, the urgency to make things happen, and an opportunity to reflect on what we’ve accomplished so far.
Our first dApp, Hamza Market, is steadily coming to life. It has been a heavy lift, primarily for the development team, to bring us to where we are today.
As we move into the new year, we’re kicking things off with three major updates scheduled for deployment right after the New Year’s Day holiday:
- Gift Card Support
We’re introducing support for gift cards, enabling sellers to list gift cards on the platform. This marks a significant milestone, as it opens the door to digital goods, such as eBooks and eSIMs. This feature has been a frequent request from both our team and the community, and this deployment is a step toward meeting that demand.
- Third-Party Seller Admin Panel
Sellers will now have access to a web-based UI to manage their orders. While we are not yet allowing a fully permissionless environment for third-party sellers (approval and whitelisting by our team are still required), this update lays the groundwork for a more open system in the future as we refine the process. - Escrow Contracts
To support third-party sellers, we are implementing smart contracts for escrow. These contracts will hold funds for each order and include a release mechanism that is currently in development.
With these updates, Hamza Market will gain new functionality on both the seller and buyer sides, enabling us to strengthen our business development efforts. Up until now, we’ve held back on aggressive marketing as we wanted to first provide more features and tools for users and the community to engage with.
While we faced a minor setback with our Twitter account being banned (the reasons are still unclear), we were fortunate to have invested minimal resources in it. A second account has already been set up, and we’re in the process of rebuilding.
In January, we’ll begin engaging more actively with the community on Discord. With additional tools and systems in place, we are eager to create a better experience for everyone involved.
